About SporTrivia

A Sports Knowledge Game Built Around Real Connections

SporTrivia turns player movement, team history, and statistical achievements into games that reward real sports knowledge.

SporTrivia is created and maintained by SporTrivia LLC. The project grew from a shared frustration among its creators: many sports trivia games felt too easy, and we wanted a more demanding game that would push our sports knowledge to its limits. It has grown into four game modes covering baseball, basketball, football, and hockey, supported by a player lookup, daily challenges, and public leaderboards.

Why SporTrivia exists

Some of us who created SporTrivia found that other sports trivia games were too easy. We wanted a game that could challenge serious fans, expose gaps in our own memories, and push our sports knowledge to the limit instead of stopping at the most familiar stars and championship facts.

SporTrivia therefore focuses on relationships. A correct answer may require remembering a veteran's brief stop with a second franchise, recognizing that a career milestone and a team appearance can overlap, or finding the one season that satisfies two statistical conditions.

That structure makes every prompt a compact research problem. It also creates a reason to look beyond current stars and learn the less obvious paths that players took through a league.

Who maintains the game

The SporTrivia LLC team develops the website and mobile experience, maintains the underlying sports datasets, reviews answer-key problems, and responds to correction reports. SporTrivia is an independent project and is not operated by MLB, the NBA, the NFL, the NHL, or their teams.

Questions about scoring, missing players, business partnerships, or data corrections can be sent directly through the Contact page. Reports with the sport, prompt, player, and expected result are the most useful because they can be reproduced against the same answer rules players see on the site.

What we are building toward

The goal is a dependable game that gets better through regular data updates and transparent rules. New features are evaluated by whether they improve the play experience, help fans understand why an answer qualifies, or make a questionable result easier to correct.

Advertising and affiliate links support operating costs, but they are kept separate from scoring. A purchase never improves a score, and a displayed product is not presented as a prize or an exclusive play-earned discount.
