Shared Answer Rules

How Prompts Are Scored

  • Two teams: name a player who played for both teams.
  • Team plus career stat: any player who played even one game for that team and reached that career achievement counts, even if most of the career happened elsewhere.
  • Team plus season stat: the player must have at least one season with that team where they recorded that stat minimum. If a player was traded and did not reach that total with that team, they do not count.
  • Career stat plus season stat, or two season stats: the team does not matter. The player just needs both achievements.

Build your streak by solving progressively harder intersections.

Classic

  • Streak 0-10: 3 guesses and 30 seconds for each guess.
  • Streak 11-20: 2 guesses and 30 seconds for each guess.
  • Streak 21-30: 1 guess and 30 seconds.
  • After 31: questions get harder with 3 team/stat combinations, and the guess pattern resets to 3, then 2, then 1 as the streak climbs.

Play fast and stack points before the clock runs out.

Arcade

  • You start with 1 minute 30 seconds.
  • Each correct answer adds 5 seconds and loads a new prompt immediately.
  • Every correct answer scores at least 1 point.
  • Bonus points are added for players who are Hall of Famers, MVPs, or Rookie of the Year winners when those tags exist in the sport data.
  • You can skip, but skipping deducts 1 correct answer from your running total and moves to a new prompt.
  • Your leaderboard score is the highest Arcade point total.

One fixed daily set, then a season-stat tiebreaker round.

Daily Challenge

  • Each day has a fixed set of prompts for each sport. You will be asked 10 questions of team overlaps with a statistic to keep in mind.
  • Round 1: answer the player intersections for the daily prompts, but keep in mind your score will be based on the stat.
  • Round 2: you will have to choose a season for your correct answers from round 1. Try to choose the season the player had the highest accumulation of that stat.
  • Your Daily Challenge leaderboard score is the combined total from the season-stat round, not just the number correct in round 1.
  • The leaderboard tracks today and yesterday separately.

Custom intersections with no timer pressure.

Zen

  • Choose any two teams or stats to create your own matchup.
  • There is no countdown timer.
  • There is no guess limit. If you miss, you can keep trying on the same prompt.
  • Try to guess all the players who fit that category.
  • Each correct answer increases your total and loads a new prompt.
  • Quit whenever you want and save the streak you built.
